Ferrari’s new horse Ferrari 499P

Ferrari has taken the wraps off its new Le Mans Hypercar, the Ferrari 499P.
Unveiled at the Ferrari Finali Mondiali at Imola, the car is to compete next year in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). The name “499” refers to the capacity in cubic centimeters of each cylinder, while the “P” stands for “Prototype”.

The Twin-Turbo 3.0-liter V6 shares the120-degree architecture used by the 296 GTB / GT3, though according to Ferrari it’s “not the same engine.” Ferdinando Cannizzo, Lead of Ferrari Attivita Sportive GT sportscar racing department, said the engine is structurally different and the V6 was chosen for being lightweight and compact.

The mid mounted engine makes 680 Hp and paired with a 272 Hp electric motor mounted at the front. The battery is connected to a 900-volt battery and can be charged through regenerative braking. The entire powertrain it connected to a seven-speed sequential gearbox with total power output being limited to 680 Hp.

Both cars, numbers #50 and #51, has done more than 712,000 kilometers of testing and will be fully homologated before the year’s end. The motorsport debut is scheduled to take place in mid-March of 2023, during the inaugural WEC round at the Sebring 1000 Miles.

‘23 Accord

Honda broke cover of the eleventh-generation Accord on Thursday 10 November 2022.
Much like the new Civic, the latest generation of accord is much more restrained in its design, being almost devoid of chrome.

The front grille is now mesh and smaller, flanked by thinner lights. Proportionally, the new Accord is 2.8-inches longer and a half-inch wider than the outgoing model, and sits on a set of 17-inch wheels with an option to upgrade to 19-inch. The new cabin also takes heavy inspiration from the new Civic, appearing almost identical at a casual glance. A 7-inch infotainment screen comes standard, which can be upgraded to a 12.3-inch. A standard 10.2-inch digital driver display available on all models along with knee and rear-passenger side airbags, the latter being the first for the nameplate.

Powering the car is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder hybrid with two-motor electric system making 204 Hp and 247 lb-ft of torque. A naturally aspirated 1.5-liter turbocharged engine is also available, with 192 Hp and a CVT gearbox. The 2023 Accord also has stiffer body supports and upgraded front brace bars for better chassis rigidity.
Honda will offer the Accord in six trim levels, LX, EX sport, EX-L, Sport-L, and Touring. Pricing will be revealed closer to the on-sale date.

A lot of E-Tron 2023 Audi Q8 E-Tron

Audi has pulled the cover off their newest flagship EV, the Q8 E-Tron. Formally known just as the E-Tron, the German company revised the name to better communicate with customers the flagship status of the vehicle. Audi will offer the car in two flavours, the standard model and a rounder Sportback.
In addition to the name change, the Q8 E-Tron spots updated styling with a new front fascia. Sections of the grille are now illuminated and feature a self-sealing system along with electric shutters around the radiator.
Underneath the car, the wheel spoilers have been tweaked, with the ones in front of the standard Q8 E-Tron now larger. The Sportback now has these aero elements both on the front and rear. The SQ8 Sportback only has wheel spoilers at the back. For the standard Q8 E-Tron, the Drag coefficient dropped from 0.28 to 0.27. The Sportback’s figure drops to 0.24 from 0.26. All car rides on air suspension that can be raised up to 76 millimetres. Inside, the dashboard has several high-resolution screens. The driver receives a digital instrument cluster with an optional heads-up display. There are a 10.1-inch diagonal infotainment monitor and an 8.6-inch diagonal HVAC controls on the centre stack. In markets that allow it, the cars will also have rear-facing side cameras instead of mirrors.
