While cars made by Jeep were first brought to the country way back in 2020 by Anwar Group, who are the authorised dealer of Jeep in Bangladesh but what was missing was an official dealership to showcase the cars. However, on 25th December 2021, Toledo Motors Limited, a subsidiary of Anwar Group of Industries officially launched Jeep in Bangladesh.
An opening ceremony was held at the American automaker’s newly launched official dealership called Jeep Experience Center located in Uttara. The event started off with a speech from Hossain Khaled, who is the managing director of Toledo Motors. Manowar Hossain who is the chairman of Anwar Group and vice chairman Hossain Mahmud were also virtually present at the event. The speech ended with the unveiling of a 2.0 litre Jeep Wrangler Rubicon which is one of the three variants of the Wrangler which are to be offered by Jeep Bangladesh at the time of launch.
One of the representatives of Jeep Bangladesh confirmed to Turbine that every Jeep car purchased through Toledo Motors comes with 3 years of manufacturing warranty and 5 years free of cost after sales service. The official service center of Jeep Bangladesh is also located at Jeep Experience Center at Uttara.
Although the Jeep Wrangler and its variants are the only cars offered by Jeep in Bangladesh, one of the officials confirmed that Toledo Motors aims to launch Jeep Compass, Jeep Renegade and Jeep Gladiator in Bangladesh within this year.
Jeep, which is now owned by multinational corporation Stellantis, has had a great role in shaping Bangladesh’s history and culture. For example, the previous generation of the Wrangler had been used by the Bangladeshi Army for many years. In fact, several units of the 4×4 were also used during the Liberation War of 1971. Needless to say, no other cars hold such emotional values to both the ‘car people’ as well as the ‘non-car people’ of Bangladesh. Now, Toledo Motors is giving an opportunity to get a modern day Wrangler, which comes with styling cues inherited form it’s legendary ancestors, in the three different body sizes and whole plethora of colour options straight from the authorised dealership.
