ABT, which stands for ABT Sportsline,is a motor racing and auto tuning company based in Kempten im Allgäu, Germany. ABT mainly deals with Audi and the related primary Volkswagen Group brands—Volkswagen, Škoda, and SEAT—modifying them by using sports-type suspensions, engine power upgrades, lightweight wheels, aerodynamic components, and more. This is what happened when ABT got their hands on the Audi Q8.
ABT did a lot of changes to the exterior of the standard Q8, in order to improve the appearance of the car even more and they definitely did a splendid job on doing it.The car is a carbon fiber galore- the front frame is completely blacked out and consists of carbon fiber. The sideskirts,mirror caps,wheel arch,diffuser, spoiler-ABT,with their excellent craftsmanship,added carbon fiber to all of the parts mentioned above. The interior consists of seats made from the finest leather.The steering wheel is also wrapped with carbon fiber.The 23” inch wheels come with the ABT special ceramic brakes, which aren’t standard althoughI would highly recommend that the ceramic brakes are taken in the package for the best experience.
Although the wheels are really high, it does not actually make a significant change when driving,you will experience no hitches whatsoever.It also has an adaptive air suspension system,which can electronically lower or higher the suspension depending on your road conditions – whether you’re going offroad or driving on a highway and the like.It also comes with a rear wheel steering,which helps to improve the stability of the car as well as the active roll stabilization which ensures that you get to drive comfortably around the sharp corners.It also comes with a Quattro sport rear differential,which provides the most grip,which is fundamental when turning corners.
Unlike most tuning companies, Abt did not only focus on changing the appearance of the car.Rather, they made significant changes to both the performance of the car and the appearance of the car as well. They did a great job in providing an even sportier look for the car and ensuring that it runs like a beast.
