Ferrari has operated in a very different direction which resulted in one of the poorest results in their history. This deficit could be blamed at the poor car performance or the general mistrust that seems to surround the team. But it was pretty clear last season that Ferrari was more than ready for change, and dropping a four times world championship driver was just that yet, either way it was perfect for some shock value. Even so, Vettel did lead Charles Leclerc in the championship at the halfway point of last season before Leclerc benefited most from Ferrari’s hugely controversial upturn in form after the summer break.
