With the single-player NFS Heat campaign you will be off as a stranger to the fictitious Palm City, an energetic, Miami-inspired town with a brutal police force that will compete on the highways. Unfazed, at the start of the campaign you team up together with a pair of siblings, Ana, the other street racer and Lucas, the multi-garage mechanic. The tensions and stakes between the cops and the racing people are growing as you can expect. Most of the story leads to the race action (as it should), and the dialog is not overwhelming, but Heat is much better able to work on a streamlined story than the complicated course of action by NFS Payback.
