Both the 2021 M3 and M4 will be powered by BMW’s new S58 twin-turbo 3.0-litre inline-six, which was first introduced in the lightning-quick X3 M and X4 M. The standard M4’s inline-six will produce 473 horsepower, and it will come standard with the six-speed manual. Yes, you heard it right. The 503-hp Competition model will send power to the rear wheels through a ZF-sourced eight-speed automatic.
