Hyundai and Kia recalls nearly 600,000 vehicles with potential fire hazard

If you have either of these Korean cars with those years you can check whether your unit is faulty from the NHTSA recalls website. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has been investigating these Korean car manufacturers since April 2019 after receiving over 3000 complaints involving engine fires and 103 injuries which were not related to crashes. Kia will start notifying the owners of the affected models starting from October 15th while Hyundai owners will get to know about it starting a week later. However even if someone receives a letter there is nothing to worry about as both the Korean automakers promise to replace the faulty hydraulic control units at free of cost.
