From what we can see, a silhouette of the car is shown that was already teased before and we can clearly tell that this new Z takes design cues from its predecessors. The headlights will remind you of the iconic 240z and is the best representation of how a modern 240z would look like. The taillights were also teased which have reminiscence to the 300zx from the early 90s. The new badge was also showed in the video and it looks almost the same as the one found on the currently in production 370z but I’m pretty sure Nissan will change the design a bit in order to modernize it. We still don’t know anything about any performance upgrade the new Z will receive but we are expecting that it will come with a 3.0litre V6 under the hood, which will probably be paired with an electric motor like most cars these days. It will also hopefully retain the same front-engined rear-wheel drive setup like its predecessors and come with a 6-speed manual transmission variant unless Nissan plans to ditch it like Toyota did with their new Supra (I hope they don’t). We’ll get to know more about the new Z when Nissan will unveil the ‘Z Proto’ on September 15th. It will be a prototype of the eventual production model of the new Z.
