The government should not provide one-sided benefit to the manufacturers, while it should also be ensured that the locally assembled vehicles meet international standards.So says Mohammad Shahidul Islam, secretary general of the Bangladesh Reconditioned Vehicles Importers and Dealers Association (Barvida).“We are not against the Automobile Industry Development Policy 2020, but the government should move to eliminate any uneven competition in the market,” said Islam, also the chairman of HNS Group, a major trading house that imports cars from Japan.
