TOYOTA TO DISCONTINUE ALLION & PREMIO

Abdul Haque, president of the Bangladesh Reconditioned Vehicles Importers and Dealers Association-BARVIDA, said Toyota would no longer produce Allion and Premio brands in 2021. Instead, it can bring 1500, 1800 and 2000cc hybrid cars. However, there has been a mixed reaction to the news in the car market.Toyota Allion and Premio are the top selling private cars in the car market in Bangladesh. The 2015 models of these two cars Allion is 23 lakh BDT and the Premio is 24 lakh BDT. However, the price of the 2020 model is 40-49 lakh BDT. The price of the new model car is always higher. The reason for Toyota’s decision is the decline in car sales due to the Corona effect. There is also a matter of people’s tastes, needs. As people change over the time, so do adaptations. Safety of passengers and drivers, comfortable travel, improved amenities, environmental protection, energy costs, government taxes, cost of doing business are many things that work to make a car model business a success. Even if the supply of Premio and Allion cars is low, the price will go up if there is a demand for this car. But it will depend on the time.
