The unnamed employee working at Tesla’s Nevada Gigafactory was approached by Egor Igorevich Kriuchkov, a Russian immigrant living in the USA, and was offered a bribe of $1million to assist in the cyberattack. Kriuchcov planned to attack the company’s network with malicious malware and block access to data until a ransom was paid, and intended to collude with an insider to inject said malwares into Tesla’s system. This malware would launch a DDoS attack chain, thereby allowing the hacker to extract corporate and network data.
