Now, how does this simple letter upgrade accompanied with some design changes make the E90 any better than its older ancestors like the E46? Well, the new generation engines incorporated the most cutting edge technology which not only made the E90 perform better but also made it a bit more fuel-efficient. Yes, the good looks make up for it but it’s still an old BMW iconically known for bleeding your wallets dry with fuel expenses. Trust me I know the pain because I have topped the tank more than once. Well, I only did it once and don’t plan on doing it again anytime soon. Also, it’s good to know that in-line car engines suffer from relatively small amounts of unwanted vibration at typical engine speeds, and the long stroke of their cylinders gives these engines superior torque. So, the new technology mated with the capabilities of the in-line motor makes the E90 a good car to drive.
